# About the Exchange configuration category

This is the place to exchange your Alumio configurations!

## How?

You can export your configuration by going to the [route](https://forum.alumio.com/t/routes-in-alumio/173) you’d like to share with others.  
Select the route, and click ‘Export’ in the right top corner.

Afterwards you can create a new topic in this category and simply fill the supplied fields.  
Underneath “Download” you can upload your exported ‘.ndjson’ file.  
It’ll look [something like this](https://forum.alumio.com/t/alumio-example-pre-configuration/379).

## Installing a configuration

What if you’ve found a configuration you’d like to try?  
First make sure you trust the author. Alumio can not be held responsible for the actions and shared configurations of others.

All good? Go to settings, press import and then import your downloaded configuration.

If you got some use out of the configuration, even just as an example please leave a comment on their post to show your appreciation or ways to improve it.
